Wellness is defined as a noun “The condition of good physical and mental health, especially when maintained by proper diet, exercise, and habits.”  At KaiZen, we don’t settle for good; We encourage and assist our patients to define their wellness with words like “GREAT”, “Fantastic” and “Exceptional” and “Vibrant”.  We strive to help our patients not only feel better than they have ever felt but also to ensure that they maintain this level of health. KaiZen means continuous improvement and that is what we help our patients to live. Vibrant Wellness is a lifelong asset we hope all of our clients acquire.

How is wellness achieved? To achieve true wellness it helps to have have all your body’s  systems functioning at their best.  The brain communicates with every organ and part of your body through the nervous system.  Subluxations, or nerve impulse interferences, can interrupt the brain’s ability to communicate effectively with the rest of your body, and create disturbances in the areas of your body that correlates with the part of the your nervous system that is experiencing the interference.  Did you know that by the time that you feel a symptom such as pain, increased tension, numbing, or tingling there is at least 60% interference of the nerve impulses correlated to that area of your body. 60%!  Symptoms of subluxations are not always painful but can also be such things as lack of energy, poor posture, moodiness, or trouble focusing.

When one’s system is functioning at peak performance everything is our lives is better.  In defining wellness we add that true wellness also means a high quality of life. When you are experiencing true wellness you are able to truly enjoy your life.  You can more easily set and attain your goals, embrace abundance, vitality, and achieve happiness. Measure the success of your wellness adventure in your everyday choices, this is the art of KaiZen.   At KaiZen, we are committed to helping each and every client to create and maintain a high level of Wellness through the use of Chiropractic, Acupuncture, Therapeutic Massage Therapy, Esthetic Services, and EFT.  Make an appointment today with one of our wellness experts, ease your subluxations, tension, pain, or just add a boost to your already vibrant health and know that you are taking your health to the next level.

Neuro-Linguistic Programming: A Tool for Life

Today’s Prescription for Wellness:

Examine Your Pre-Assumptions.

Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) is a tool for change and empowerment that was created through the study of the behavior of geniuses by a team of Experts in the field of linguistics, mathematics, psychology, and sociology.  NLP uses a combination of using imagery and movement ensuring optimal neuro (brain) processing, words and symbols (language), and systematic approaches to make sure the new behavior is ingrained (or programmed) into a new pattern of thinking and behaving. The brain manages the functioning of the human body, and language is in charge of how we interact with other people and how we qualify and manage our own behavior.  Programming deals with the combination of the models that we create in our internal landscape (the brain and thoughts) and with the behavior patterns through language and physical action.  Through understanding what presumptions, or beliefs, we act from on daily basis and the consequences of those presumptions we can have a true understanding of how to uproot and change patterns of behavior that are holding us back from living our true potential.

Currently at KaiZen, Dr. Peter Smith, is conducting a weight loss program that utilizes NLP to obtain great results. By using NLP, Dr. Peter’s program ensures that the new patterns of health he aids clients attain can last a lifetime.  In addition to NLP, the program also combines weekly Tele-seminar sessions, email support, supplementation, eating and exercise program, and inspiring progress tracking system. NLP is an art that can be utilized to not only help individuals lose weight, but it is a science that has also been shown to assist individuals to quit smoking, remove procrastination, eat better, and create healthier overall patterns in their life.  For more information on NLP and how it can help you talk to Dr. Peter or Dr. Steve on your next visit, both are well versed in using this powerful tool to help KaiZen’s clients towards reaching their optimal wellness and fitness goals.

Kai-Zen Wellness Experiment of the Day:

Take Note of what stimulates your behavior.

By understanding what is the underlying cause or stimulation that perpetuates a particular pattern we can allow our selves to have more choice over what patterns will ultimate reign our life and what patterns it might do us best part ways with. Ask yourself what behaviors absolutely invigorate your life and what patterns leave room for improvement or just completely hold you back from attaining your goals. Now contemplate those patterns. What motivates you to repeat that behavior. What feelings are associated with that behavior. Continued this line of questioning, investigating, the stimuli, the preassumptions, and repercussions, the benefits. Then ask yourself what you want more of and what you want to let go of. This is a great start and a great way to plant seeds of change.
