The Law of Free Flowing Energy

“Interruption or diversion of the human body’s energy, either through internal or external toxins, can and will negatively affect the area of the body the energy is supplying directly or other areas of the body indirectly.”

This law teaches you to look at your body’s energy flow (or lack thereof) to get to the source of your weight gain, health issues, including fatigue.

The human body depends on a free flow of energy through the nervous system to function at its highest potential. Interference with this energy flow can come from physical, chemical, or emotional sources. This interference can lead to structural damage within the body as well as disease. The closer you are to have free flowing energy, the closer you are to allowing your body to function at its maximum potential. Free flowing energy occurs when electrical energy signals flow back and forth between the brain and the rest of the body uninterrupted.

Free flowing energy is absolutely essential if you wish to obtain your health goals, including weight loss, and maximized vitality.

Bloating, unexplainable weight gain, fumbling your words or not being to clearly ’spit out’ what you want to say, difficulty performing mundane tasks, headaches, inconsistent sports/physical/mental performance, troubles with concentrating/focusing, and virtually every other symptom that can disrupt your daily life stems from interference of the energy flow within the nervous system.

Maximized Energy,Vitality and optimal health occurs when the your system is free from interference.

FREE FLOWING ENERGY OCCURS WHEN THE FOLLOWING ACTIONS TAKE PLACE:

*Healthy nutrition

*Proper Exercise

*Positive Thoughts

*Stress Elimination

*Successful Visualization….an so on.

Use the Law of Free Flowing Energy to your advantage. It gives you the power to control your weight, your health, and your life. Consider yourself ahead of the game as your energy becomes Free Flowing. Energy is at the core of your very existence. As your mind and body become toxin free you will begin to experience the true power of Free Flowing Energy.

Find Your Feminine Groove~ A Dance Workshop

Tuesday, June 15th, 2010

THURSDAY, June 24th 6:30-8:30pm

Let’s face it, today, more than ever before, women are playing multiple roles in every area of their life. We speak the languages of mother, spouse, bread-winner, caregiver, executive, entrepreneur, etc. And yet, much of the time, we are living our lives based on definitions that others have created – and when we do this, quite often there is a disconnect between our mind, our body and our spirit. When we disconnect from ourselves in such a way, it affects our attitude, our confidence and our femininity.

It’s time to get out of your head, and into your body! Find YOUR Feminine Groove – increase your awareness, be inspired and ignite your confidence simply by being in your own skin.

Please note:This is a dance workshop that is designed for the novice and experienced alike.

This workshop will discuss and explore:
-the roles that women play
-how to reintegrate the disconnect between your mind, body and spirit
-& remind you of the power of your femininity.
(Not to mention, we will be rockin’ out to some groovy tunes – be ready to move your hips, stretch your comfort zone and shake yo’ thang.)
What to Wear: Comfy clothes. Yoga/Gym’ish attire. We will do a great deal barefoot, although you may want to bring a pair of soft-soled shoes you can move it. Tennis shoes are fine.
Cost: $25 with Pre-Registration $35 at the Door.
Your Instructor: Jenn Kaye is an international speaker, coach and facilitator with a passion for dance and movement. In this unique program she combines her expertise in facilitation, dance, bodywork and communication to help teach you how to move in confidence and femininity in your everyday life – and how to be more comfortable in your own skin.

The Beauty Clock: Keep it Ticking Strong

Wednesday, June 9th, 2010

“The Beauty Clock is ticking…..believe it or not “time” is not your skin’s greatest enemy.

The following processes give a tremendous push to the aging process:

*Sun exposure, Cigarette smoke (inhaled or secondhand), Environmental toxins

*A nutrition-poor diet, especially one lacking in vitamins A, C, E, and folic acid yet high in fat and salt

*Excess alcohol consumption, Stress, Harsh soaps or detergent based moisturizers and Sleep deprivation

But take note that even if you never leave your home without sunblock or never inhale cigarette smoke you skin will follow the following process:

*Dryness: The skin’s oil glands reduce their production greatly after the age of 30, and the loss continues over the years.

*Sun damage/loss of skin tone: Melanocytes begin to burn out when you reach your late thirties and forties, reducing the skin’s ability to fight sun damage and often causing uneven pigmentation.

*Thinning: About age 40, the dermis and the skin’s fat layer begin to thin. The process picks up steam after 50. Sadly this results in sagging and the loss of the plump, youthful softness of the skin. The loss of the fat layer also makes the skin more fragile and likely to abrade.

*Loss of firmness: In the dermis, cells called fibroblasts constantly replenish our skin’s supply of collagen and elastin.

*Reduced ability to repair damage: The body loses its ability to repair free-radical damage, so changes in the cells become more pronounced, accelerating the aging process.

*Loss of Temperature Control: Sweat glands also loose their ability to function, which makes it harder for your body to regulate itself and register heat and cold.

Wrinkled, sagging skin is “not” the inevitable result of growing older. With the proper skin care program you can look your best, feel your best and enjoy beautiful skin at any age.”

Kundalini Yoga and How it can Help You ?

Tuesday, May 11th, 2010

Starting June 2nd, 2010, weekly Kundalini Yoga classes will begin at KaiZen on Wednesday nights from 7:15-8:30pm. Read on to find out more about this branch of Yogic Practice and how it is a great compliment to creating more wellness in your life.

Kundalini Yoga is the Yoga of Awareness. Yoga is not a religion, but instead a science of self-development and self-awareness that works to balance the connection between the body, mind, and spirit into a cohesive union.  Yoga has been found to bring increased functioning to the all systems of the body: circulatory, lymphatic, nervous, respiratory, endocrine, muscular-skeletal, digestive and immune.

“It’s like flying a kite inside your own mind!”, remarked an eleven year describing his experiences with Kundalini Yoga.  The human mind is always active. The  product of a millennium of evolution, the mind is always alert.  Will we allow our mind chatter to remind us of all of the possibility, fun, and potential of our life, or  will we allow the mind to play a tape of worry, trouble, stress, and resentment? What you focus on from your mind-speak is conscious or unconscious choice.

Kundalini Yoga helps to increase the awareness of what thoughts  one chooses to focus on and how to use the mind to serve your highest needs, instead of debilitating limiting thought patterns. Each class ends with a meditation, which helps to quiet the mind and bring about a particular effect (there are over 5,000 yoga sets and meditations–all which enliven and empower you to be a more limitless individual).

Kundalini Yoga combines the use of breath work (pranayam), a series of specifically coordinated simple body movements/postures (kriya), hand positions (mudras), and meditation.  Every Kundalini Yoga Class is open to all levels. You do not have to be especially flexible to attend a Kundalini Yoga class as many of the exercises are very simple body movements people of all ages can accomplish easily.

Come try a Kundalini Yoga Class and Experience its benefits yourself.

Beginners Welcome and encouraged to attend.

Starting Wednesday June 2, @ 7:15 pm: Kundalini Yoga with Natalia “Hari Gopal”

Cost: $15 Drop-in

5 Class Pass: $60 (classes drop to $12/each)

10 Class Pass; $100 (classes drop to $10 each)

*Can use class passes for both Kundalini Yoga and Exercise Classes.

15 Benefits of Massage

Thursday, May 6th, 2010

What exactly are the benefits of receiving massage or bodywork treatments? Useful for all of the conditions listed below and more, massage can:

*. Alleviate low-back pain and improve range of motion.
*Assist with shorter, easier labor for expectant mothers and shorten maternity hospital stays.
* Ease medication dependence.
* Enhance immunity by stimulating lymph flow—the body’s natural defense system.
* Exercise and stretch weak, tight, or atrophied muscles.
* Help athletes of any level prepare for, and recover from, strenuous workouts.
* Improve the condition of the body’s largest organ—the skin.
* Increase joint flexibility.
* Lessen depression and anxiety.
* Promote tissue regeneration, reducing scar tissue and stretch marks.
* Pump oxygen and nutrients into tissues and vital organs, improving circulation.

There’s no denying the power of bodywork. Even though many people consider massage therapy a luxury or relaxing treatment it can be a powerful ally in your health care regimen. Massage is preferred as a complimentary treatment by chiropractors, physical therapists and sports medicine practitioners.

Keep Your Natural Glow On: Keep these 7 Ingredients Off Your Skin

Thursday, April 8th, 2010

Today’s Prescription for Wellness:

Increase your awareness of what ingredients are in the products you put on your skin. Some of them may not be as helpful as you may have thought!

The 7 ingredients listed below are often found in skin care products but and though they may help the manufacturers extend the life of their product or water down the products so they can produce more and spend less on the ingredients, none of these products benefit your skin.

Mineral Oil:An oil product derived from petroleum (crude oil) is a stabilizing ingredient used in many skin care formulas. Mineral oil forms a film on the skin, blocking the pores and interfering with the normal skin respiration. It not only dries the skin, but also contributes to blemishes.  Mineral Oil also leeches out free radical fighters: Vitamin A, C, and E from your skin.

Petroleum-Petroleum products such as Vaseline, etc. do not penetrate the skin, but sit on the surface blocking natural respiration, excretion, and absorption of other nutrients.

Wax (Beeswax,Carnauba,Emulsifying,Paraffin, and Candilla) Beeswax is a sticky sealant. It attracts pollutants, dirt, and bacteria and glues them on the skin as it scales the pores.

Solvent Alhohols-Many skin care products contain solvent alcohol in the form of propyl, isopropyl (petroleum derivitates) or SD Alcohol (especially denatured alcohol). The alcohols strip the “acid mantle” of your natural protective oils that hold in moisture and fight bacteria, causing your skin to produce more oil to replace what was destroyed.

Lanolin-An oily excretion of sheep, lanolin is a common lubrication ingredient in many skin formulas.  Extracted from wool, lanolin has been indicated as a cause of allergic skin reactions in sensitive skin. It does not penetrate the epidermis, so it also acts as a sealant.

Collagen-An animal product added to cosmetics as a moisturizing agent or inject directly into the skin, Collagen molecules are too large to penetrate the skin and therefore clog pores.

Dyes, Perfumes, and other harmful ingredients - Artificial ingredients found in most cosmetics. Animal testing has been used to determine “safe” toxicity levels, however many of these ingredients can cause allergic reactions in many people.

Want to know the best things TO put on your skin? Schedule an appointment with Kathi Marshall today and not only will you walk out of KaiZen with your skin feeling more vibrant that ever before but also armed with information about how to keep that glow going for many many more days to come. Current Special: Hydrating Facial only $50 (Reg. $80).

KaiZen Wellness Experiment of the Day:

Look through all of your skin care product and set aside all the products that have any of the ingredients listed above. Trust us, it will be well worth it.

You have those product to help your skin, not set your skin back, damage your skin, and create more work for yourself and your body. Is a product questionable? Set an appointment with Kathi today, and she can assist you in guiding you on the right path to beauty products that make your look at your skin and say “WOW!”
